Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Post your PSIMET wheel photos.

Looking at getting new wheels and would like to see some PSIMETs on bikes. Thanks.

Is there some taboo against posting PSIMET pictures?

It was a joke. I don't like the beehive hubs either and I thought it was silly that people were telling you to pedal more just to avoid hearing the buzz. sometimes my sarcasm doesn't translate despite the wink smilie.

If I could buy you a set of wheels it would be Neuvations. In fact I'm driving through San Luis Obispo on vacation in the morning and picking up the new set I ordered last week. Saved me $35 in shipping. Now my wife and kids have to put up with the box in the car for the next week. ha ha.

From what I hear they're nice and quiet.

I apologize for being snippy. The only negative about the Nuevations is that they are kind of heavy. They are coming in around 1700+g. The set from PSIMET is about 1440g and the SOUL wheels are around 1540.

Sent in my PT hub and a front DTSwiss 240 front hub and these 2 tubular wheels came back. Very satisfied so far.

The way I can identify these are PSIMET, are the extraordinary amount of spokes used to lace it up.

Nice looking rig...

BTW...wasn't there a sticky and another thread on this subject a month ago?

There was a thread. It was jettisoned. I started another thread. The first thread came back and the two threads were merged. Then Tom made them a sticky.

I went away for a while, came back, and the sticky was gone. Now it's in a subforum I didn't know existed, called Advertise Your Services. Odd, considering I wasn't advertising any services.

It's complicated.

No need to apologize.

I went with the Neuvations because shaving off 7-10 ounces wasn't worth the added cost. Even on 25-30 mile rides I carry 2 bottles of liquid so I can't justify the fact that I carry an extra pound or so of water.

Yes, that is too confusing. Why is the Soul Wheel thread allowed to be around then and never have that happened? Odd for sure.

I'm real happy with my Psimet budget wheelset--Novatech hubs, Kinlin rims and I forget the brand of spokes at the moment. Always true; always really sharp looking on my Klein; LOUD freewheel, which I've grown to love. My daughter really wants a pair (actually, she really wants my bike). Her 21st birthday is coming up in August and if she puts enough miles on her road bike this summer, I'm going to get her a pair of Psimets like mine for her birthday.

Actually, I was the one that wanted that many spokes in it 24F/28R. I wanted these wheels as my daily workhorse type of wheels with a PT, so I wanted stiff as it gets and reliability. I have plenty of other wheels for other occasions, so going ultralight or ultra aero was not the priority here. Reliability was.
