I don't generally come to the forum with styling questions - but i'm unduly dallying over a decision.
Perhaps a 2nd question could be: Should the gold chain be paired with a gold-ish freewheel?
Since I've been on the Forum 15 years you know I highly value all opinions, but pictures really tell the tale.
Show those gold colored drivetrain parts
and help me make up my mind on this project.

I can't stop looking at the mismatched tires.

While I can def see you sportin' a black turtleneck and big gold chain while riding that, I'm thinkin' something more '70s for you, like yellow acrylic, for example...

A Regina Oro chain and Oro freewheel were the gold standard (sorry) for years, so why not. I certainly very often had a ''gold' chain and freewheel. I think the idea was the brass plating made them run smoother. Maybe it did. Sorry no pics. Wish I would have stashed some of those BITD, but I'm not much of a pack rat.
They didn't stay very gold looking for long in the real world.
What gold chain is that? A KMC?

I like the gold chain. I have a gold chain and gear group on my Specialized M4 S Works. In my case I could care less if gold or silver, but shows up better than black when I'm cleaning the black wet lube off. My bike isn't well matched anyway because the valve caps are different .

As stated - still a project. May not even be the wheelset. This bike will be moving to tubies before the riding season gets hot. I may have to shuffle wheelsets to make it happen.
The chain sags - is not even connected.
Too much loop from cablestop to RD.
etc.
Got a pic to contrib?

Call it a $15 charge for stylin check before jumping in. Gold chain means a lot more commitment to cleaning than i am usually prepared to make.

Funny, those gold/black chains seemed overly ostentatious to me. Screamed LOOK AT ME, louder than all gold.

That's a Regina Oro on the Cinelli, both chain and freewheel. Colnago has an Everest Oro Special, and the Bianchi has an Everest Oro and a Regina Oro freewheel.
