My first jersey complements of the wife. I couldn't believe she remembered that I wanted this particular jersey, we were watching previews to some movie she wanted to see, with a couple of guys talking in a coffee shop, and one of them had this jersey on. I remember saying to her thats the jersey I'm going to get when I buy my bike.

I bought about $3 worth of assorted hex wrench machine screws and nuts to mount the fenders I had sitting in a closet for at least 20 years, and unused for probably another 10 years before that. I almost never ride in the rain, but I've been caught a few times, plus streets are frequently wet in the morning. The fenders were the classic Bluemels. I think I probably last used them on my Austro-Daimler Inter10 before it got stolen. After that bike I had my Davidson custom built in 1981, and I never rode that in the rain, even in rainy Seattle. So that would be 32 years in storage.
I was going to throw them out when I cleaned up my basement, and I did once offer them to someone here on BF, but I guess I found a use for them again on my dedicated commuter.

Wore out the rear tire, found out through a blowout. Got these:
Also notice the front brakes have been chewed through, and might as well replace the rear too.

A few months ago I bought a wheelbuilding book and got the itch to build a set of wheels for myself. I thought it would be great to have a set of alloy tubular CX wheels. So I just picked up a set of NOS Ambrosio tubular rims on eBay. Hubs, spokes, and nipples to follow.

Nothing says "I'm weak" like a rear derailleur designed for use with a triple crankset and a 30T rear cog. When I pair it with my 20° stem it will say "I'm old and weak."

3 is more than enough for me. I'm just happy the current wheelsets I've bought were all on sale. After I sold both sets of the Enve 65s, I thought about their 6.7s but I wanted to try something different, something new.

The rims and hubs only took 6 days, including the weekend, from China/Taiwan. Two different orders/shipments. No problems with customs in either case. logistics-wise, this has to be best case. Of course, i double checked they had in stock exactly what i wanted before placing the orders.

I used to date a girl whose grandmother went by the name Blackie. "Chugging with a granny" had a whole different meaning back then.
