Tire cut - just above bead - trash or patch?
WTB Venture's, 40mm width - was running them at 45 psi (tubeless) on a gravel ride this weekend when I hit a rock and slid off it going pretty fast on a descent and pinch flatted.
The tire has two holes in classic pinch flat form - the problem is that one of them is a 1/2 inch longitudinal slice just above the bead - so sort of where the tire seats against the rim...it would be just slightly hidden by the rim when mounted. The cut is less than 1/4 inch from the edge of the tire so not a lot of room to patch but I'm sure I could get one to hold.
BUT...I'm heading out for a multi day tour soon. Should I just put a different tire on? I could get the same tire, or I have some file tread tires I could thrown on for the tour because while it's a lot of dirt it's mostly smooth.

Trash. You won't get a boot/patch to hold near the rim.

Thanks - purchased a new one, will trash the damaged one. Was tempted to try and patch it and save it for future use on more local rides but will resist that urge.
