See my earlier post. That was the original intention; however, now there is only one model with no zippered pocket for $78.

Someone is insecure about their masculinity. Give it a rest, we are talking about cycling gear, and even if we weren't why does it matter? Don't want to sound like a bunch of lousy, good-for-nothing-but-cooking-and-sex women now do we?

I like the jacket but the pants are a rip off. Buy any pair of 39 dollar levis from Zappos and stitch your own lock holder on the belt line.

I just don't see me ever wearing jeans when I bike, underarmor all winter shorts and t's all summer - and at 75 dollars i probably never will. 75$ is like another suit of ua or 3 pairs of shorts. I like cheap things I'm a simple canadian man, i eat bacon when i feel like it. sometimes with maple syrup >___>

I'd rather spend the $$ on good cycling shorts, or bike parts, or.......if it had to be outerwear, maybe a nice pair of knickers.

Do people actually buy the outlier and other high price cycling clothing? I just can't justify them when the advantages and benefits wouldn't be that much more than just normal pants or shirts

I think some of the outerwear might be justified, but I'm with you on the basics. A pair of "messenger" shorts at jcpenny for 20 bucks seem on par with most specialized knickers I've seen.

I do, however, own a jacket from Nau that was more than I'd normally pay, but it is amazing both visually and practically.

from my understanding and what i read about these prior to the release is- the back rides higher than the front. And to be honest, $78 is not a lot for GOOD commuter jeans. this being said by someone who bikes to work in jeans. Compared to the other options. SWRVE, Betabrand, or Chrome all of which are $100 > These are great.

also a fan of the cell phone pocket. eliminates the need for the bag on short rides.

+1 for 501s however. Basically after exhausting my denim search for several years and just about every brand (from mossimo to deisel) levi's are one of the few very consistent brands. i'll rock 501s or 511s any day.

from the article... "The jeans are also gusseted to prevent crotch blowout and sport a higher-cut back to hide that plumber's crack."

again, i really commend levis for this product. as soon as i can whip up an extra $78 for these i am buying them, and will figure out how they actually work.

i know all you dudes who wear bibs and jerseys and feel really great not liking normal clothing, may not dig, but i'll spend good money on these as i've blown the crotch out of too many jeans as it is. there is a small thai lady down the street from me who must think something awful of me as i've brought at least 3 pairs of pants to her and said "hey can you fix the crotch of these?"

i'm actually also going to by another pair of 501s or 11s, whatever, and have her reinforce the crotch while the pants are new and see how they wear.

i dig on denim.

I picked up a pair of Swrve knickers from eBay a while back and I kinda hate them. They fit well and are comfortable but they make my legs sweat like a mother****er while riding - even when it's a little chilly outside. 100% cotton isn't the way to go.

As a sidenote, I haven't worn jeans of any kind since I was about 12.

I still rock my Swrve pants, which were cut into shorts this summer. Absolutely love them. To each his own :/

As to all you nay-sayers and haters out there. I'm going to try them out when I have money to blow. Rocking Swrve pants made me realize just how ****ing amazing it is to be able to have that ultimate level biker swag and throw your leg over the handlebars. I've blown WAY To many jeans biking And swrves crotch still has no problems. If Levis is almost on par, hell yes.

This. I wish I had bought the 'damaged' swrve, but they will be reserved now for chilly days.

+1. These pants seem like a waste of money...especially when one can simply use a belt for a u-lock holder.

Why do people seem to think that the u-lock holster is the only thing separating these from standard 511s? They are also water-resistant, have a reinforced crotch, reflective materials, higher back, etc. In fact if I were to get a pair of these I'd prefer they didn't have the stupid u-lock holster.

Like I said earlier, I'm really curious about how water-resistant these really are? If they can stay dry in the rain, I'll definitely get a pair.
