Haro Kids bike handle bar adjustment
For what ever reason Haro is the standard bike in the neighborhood. They are mostly 20" and a few smaller. The issue is simple, the kids are growing and they need adjustment for a proper ride.
Haro says if they are quill adjustment they need to go to the dealer which not even close to our area. Can they be adjusted with out the dealer like any other bike?
Anyone cracked the handle bar code?

Haro kids bikes are basically just bmx bikes. There is not a whole lot of adjustment other than the seat height and pivoting the bars forward or backward for reach. A setback seat post can stretch it out a bit. The current models have threadless stems, but changing the short bmx stem for something longer is going to change the steering. How are the bikes not fitting the kids? Bmx bikes are mostly one size fits all once you get to the 20" wheel size bikes.

Some Haros (and other 20" bike) have hand brakes and the cables of these brakes can sometimes be routed through (Potts mods in old terminology) or along it through a decoupling device (Rotor or Gyro). If these are present then raising/replacing the stem will involve the cables and brakes. If someone is not up to this aspect they should not be doing that work. Andy
