I’m going to check this guy out later today and the price seems very low for the good condition and compared to the price new. Assuming everything is alright with the drive when I go for a test ride, should I pull the trigger?

From the way it's set up, with the giant plush seat lower than the backwards-angled bars, probably just a totally wrong geometry for the owner. Of course you need to check for mechanical flaws, but I would be surprised if the seller is the original owner and put lots of miles on it.

Unlikely you would know but worth a try... I am about 5”7 with longer than normal legs (forgot length). Do you think I would fit? I am 16 so I’m looking to buy a bike to grow into.

Maybe, but it looks like someone may have put a good amount of miles on it. Look at the closeup photo of the RD. It's scratched up, and the chainstay has some serious scuffing. Wonder if it was crashed.

What are you looking for in a bike? Racing/commuting/just tooling around? How much is your budget? If you are checking Toronto listings they are the highest in Canada for used bikes. Check Hamilton and other areas outside the city for better pricing. No use grabbing a bike for that money and it stops fitting in a year.

There are on line calculators but if you have longer than average legs they will only provide a ball park size. Go to bike shops and actually get on a few bikes. Get a rough idea of what size works before you commit. Remember that a) older frame sizing seems to be different than newer and sellers aren't always truthful when they say "fits 5'7" to 5'9". They just want to sell their old bike.

I'm looking for something to train in when my shin splints hurt too much from running. Although, I would like to get into bike racing as well. So essentially a race bike? My price range is $1000 cad. Although I don't have cycling shoes so I would like to try and keep the bike under $900, but if it is a great deal, ill spend all $1000.

You could race on that bike, but I would not consider it to be a "race bike."

Maybe not the best $900 race bike, but setup properly for the OP(proper fit), it's not the bike that would be holding him back.

It looks like someone tried to ride that in an upright position(like a hybrid).

You might be able to find an older bike that's carbon and has like Ultegra that was left on the wall after not a lot of use because it's ten speed and the owner upgraded a few years ago...

That's true. Assuming the frame fits properly, it could be lightened up, put some nice supple tires on it, etc.

I don't think I would let the racing aspect of the bike, be a deciding factor for a newb to road cycling.

Sure, some people are really serious about trying road racing, but not most people. If they find that the bike is actually holding them back, they usually "fall in love" with some other bike by that time.

Since it is technically a medium frame, and I am only 5"6 1/2 now, would I still be able to comfortably ride it aggressively? The only reason I would rather size up is that I'm only 16, so I will still grow an inch or two in the next two years.

Don't worry about being able to ride the bike aggressively. I'd be more concerned about being able to ride the bike efficiently, and comfortably.

I like the BMC better because it will allow you to use wider tires, and it's 11speed. The rear derailleur has some scratches, but everything else looks good.

The Cannondale probably has a creaky BB. Also the frame is aluminum, not carbon like the guy says.

Looks like the BMC is threaded? Can't remember what you get on those.

Asking a bunch of questions when you are new is a very good idea. What I take issue with is that you open a new thread for each new question. Makes it difficult to follow your thought process. I have had to look at multiple threads to try and figure out where you are going. Honestly, my head is spinning trying to follow your timeline. Is this question newer than the last question you asked? Was it older? You seem to be fixated on the idea of racing in the future. Don't look at road bikes with 10 speed cassettes unless you want neutral support cars that only have 11 speed wheels to be unable to help you. Doesn't matter if the bike you look at is a dedicated race bike, many races have been won on good bikes that were designed for less competitive events. A bike designed for criterium racing would fare badly at Paris Roubaix. For a newcomer, a bike designed for Cyclosportifs,(Gran Fondos) is an excellent beginner's race bike. These are the sort of bikes pros use for races like the cobbled classics.

My CAAD 8 has a standard threaded Bottom Bracket, so no creaking problems.
It's the press-fit BBs that are problems.

Yes, it's an aluminum frame. And a good one. Very race worthy bike.
Down the road, wheels could be upgraded.

The Cannondale is the better choice. The problem may be size. It might fit you now but if you grow anymore it will be too small for you.

The BMC while a good bike looks like it is coming from one of those Police Auction Sites, so buy with caution. It is not the bike I would recommend for what you asked for.
