Welcome. The south (east) is a great place to live i think. Where exactly you are? I use to live in South Carolina and Georgia and its definitely full with any kind of terrain you want. Now Chicago is totally bad for biking

Welcome! I lived in the Asheville area for almost 14 years and rode the blacktop all over.....mainly the northern Buncombe and southern Madison County areas as my usual haunts but climbed Mt. Pisgah 7 times from the southeastern side (16 mile climb roughly with some very temporary relief) on that 16 miles. Moved back to the center of the state where I was born and starting back after a hiatus from biking.
