Repair and maintenance books?
I'm looking for recommendations on a good basic repair and maintenance book. I recently purchased the Park Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair and did not find it thorough enough. Pictures could have been better and it does not go in to enough detail. I thought it was a big catalog for advertising Park Tolls, no surprise. I'm just interested in doing some basic maintenance and repairs on my road bike and learning more about the mechanics of the bike.

This thread has links to sites that might be even better than a book.
Otherwise, search here on 'repair books' or similar as there are several recent threads discussing the question.

Go to your local Barnes & Noble or other big box bookstore. They should have Bicycling magazines and Zinns books. Look them over and read a few of the proceedures outlined. They are in the $20.00 to $25.00 range.Take your pick. bk

I've heard that Barnett's is the most comprehensive, but I'm not sure you can buy the book without taking their course. I'm self-taught, and have found all the info I needed on the web, FWIW.

Barnett's is available, but it's around $125.
