Loved them "back in the day". About to try a pair of N.O.S. Shimano 105s on my Litespeed.

Back in the 80's the "fit kit" system had a pair of pedals where the cage of the pedal floated, there were two rods that extended one on the cage and one on the core pedal, when the rods aligned with the cleat adjustment set- all was good - really solved many a rider's knee pain.
frequently now I see riders pedaling along where one it both legs take a wild displacement side to side as they pedaling- I catch them at a light I ask how their knee pain is... They all say, "how did you know?" Easy, it is in your pedal stroke. I ask if they have had their cleats professionally fitted... So it goes.

Of course I'm still riding the Look clipless on any road bike newer than 1985. Which for the moment means my three (yes, the third one is finally on the road, documented in the "what have you done lately?" thread) Rossins and my early 90's Diamondback Expert. Everything else is traditional clips and straps, with the exception of my Magneet tourer (SPD on one size, plain rattraps on the other) and my Trek 4500 (SPD).

I was psyched to find a set of the Campy Look pedals for my ’82 Bianchi this weekend at Recycled Cycles. I strongly suspect that they’re just rebranded Looks, as the spindles have a “D” and “G” stamped on them (French) rather than a “D” and “S” (Italian).
In general, they’re great pedals and are highly available in used parts bins. I use them exclusively on all my bikes.

Still rocking a pair of PD-6402s that came on my mid-80's Battaglin.
Nice float and adjustable release tension. Reasonably light.

I have never rod clipped pedals before. Three of my 1987 road bikes have these clips. Would like to find shoes that work for these rather than going with new clips. Any suggestions on shoes that will work? Would like to stay around $100 or less. Thanks

I am still running the Look Mud Vac pedals and the Mavic branded original design Look pedals. Both sets are near the end of their useful lives, but I will run them till they run no more.

Both have reasonably stiff soles -- I think Scott rates theirs 7 on a scale of 10. That's a good thing. Better support, feels more secure when standing to pedal. I use Profoot Miracle memory foam insoles to prevent metatarsal hotspots -- they're only $8-$10 and the thinnest, lightest and most comfortable insoles I've tried.
Both work with any 3-bolt cleats. I use old school Look Delta on the Scotts, Shimano SPD-SL on the Fiziks.

Look pedals.
Still using my original Look pedals, bought in late 1986 after seeing Hinault using them (ditto Rolls saddle). I use them with a period Lakes shoe.
