So how are you creating these routes ?. The easiest method is on-line at RWGPS, then dump to the device. Trying to do it on the Wahoo mobile app is a PITA, in my opinion. Sounds like you like and use the better features of the Bolt, just have no need to use every ride and no need to upload to Strava. The device requires neither.
Steve - yes i create my routes on RWGPS. I really like the Bolt. I just don't need it all the time. As noted I don't really want to record my commutes, nor do I care about recording a ride where I'm just heading out for 25-30 miles for some exercise on a familiar route. I'm not a data junkie, and not training for anything. So i like the Bolt for turn by turn on new routes, and for on the occasions where I want to push myself to see where I am fitness wise or just for the heck of it (for example I have a "regular" century route that's pretty flat - about 3k feet of elevation - that I'm trying to do in under 5 hours moving time).
