Spoke Supplier?

Several months or possibly years ago, someone mentioned a good, inexpensive online source for stainless, double-butted spokes. Now that we have entered 2024, I have run out of excuses for not replacing a horrible set of galvanized spokes on my daughters vintage Peugeot. If anyone can remember who that seller was or can provide a recommended source, I would be eternally, yes, eternally thankful for the tip and not having to spend more on the spokes than I paid for the daughter’s bicycle!
TIA!

I've been buying butted stainless spokes from ebay seller childhood_dreams for a couple years. He cuts and threads to your lengths. Fast and reasonable.

Yes, Marcus is still there. His website is there, but it doesn't support HTTPS. You will have to be explicit about the protocol and probably jump through some browser hoops.

https://www.yojimbosgarage.com/blog/

These days it seems most of his sales action happens on Craigslist. Searching for "Lincoln Park" in the bicycle parts for sale section brings up a bunch of his listings.

https://chicago.craigslist.org/searc...coln%20Park%20

Anything with old maple flooring as the backdrop will be his. A similar search in the bicycles category also shows a bunch of his stuff.

I’ve used Yojimbo’s exclusively for spokes the last several years. Great service and good prices.

Sunny Spokes and Bike Hub Store are both reliable purveyors of fine spoke and nipple products.
Dan’s Comp used ro be my inexpensive go-to supplier (about half the current prices) but they got sold several years ago and no longer sell spokes.

I've been buying spokes from lkspoke for years. The experience is professional and cordial. I get DT nipples from Amazon or wherever.

I am curious if anyone has built these wheel kits and if so how it went?

As a follow-up, I reached out to Lee Kilpatrick and it was a pleasure to work with him. Excellent quality spokes and nipples, cut exactly to the right length with very reasonable prices. The re-laced wheels look terrific. I plan to use Lee in the future.

Thanks to this thread I also recently ordered from Lee. A great transaction and the spokes are perfect.

For more fun spokes I get them from bmxguru.com, he stocks all the different soma spokes if you want color and will cut them to your specification. He also carries Phil Wood and DT for butted. Prices are really reasonable on the colored spokes, about .50 each. Built the wife a set of MTB wheels with blue and purple spokes that matched the frame and hub colors for fun.

His eBay listings don't mention the spoke brand. Does he use a common vendor, like Sapim?

Yes, though he changes. They are always high quality, so I have no complaints. Sometimes he has recommendations, and I go with them. Every purchase I've made with him has been perfect.
