Serotta "Club Series" 62 cm in NH $800
For Sale is my single owner, low mileage 1980 Serotta "Club Series" Road Bicycle in a 62 cm /24.5" frame.
Very lightly used, idle most of those years. Beautiful lug work, stiff front forks, Columbus SP tubes throughout. Green with all original decals, paint, pretty fine for 37 years.
Single owner - me. It likely has less than 1000 miles on it.
No serial number, was advised it was handmade by Serotta, but the purchase year suggests other (1980 at Cambridge Bike Exchange, Cambridge MA).
Campy bars and derailleurs, Stronglight crankset, Weinmann Cabrera brakes, Maillard 700 hubs/Rigida rims.
I had totaled a fine Motobecane (even bent the chain stays) and swapped parts onto the Serotta, riding little road thereafter. Moved to a mountain bike when Specialized hit the market and never looked back.
Pictures are _before_ any cleaning. If I clean it up, I'll put it on EBay:-) Yours FOB Manchester, NH. Happy to ship, however.
I'm retiring and reducing my possessions. Let me know if you want a Tenor Sax, too :-)

Serotta "Club Series" 62 cm NH $800
1980 Serotta "Club Series" 63 cm Bike in Manchester,
New Hampshire, $800.
Very Little Use!
Vintage Serotta Bike, circa 1980, very lightly used, idle most of those years. Beautiful lug work, stiff front forks, Columbus SP tubes throughout. Green with all original decals, paint, pretty fine finish condition for 37 years.
Single owner - me.
No serial number, 'was advised it was handmade by Serotta, but the purchase year suggests other (1980 at Cambridge Bike Exchange, Cambridge MA). Still, there is no serial number (see pics), so it could have been hand built.
Campy bars and derailleurs, Stronglight crankset, Weinmann Carrera brakes, Maillard 700 hubs/Rigida rims.
I had totaled a fine Motobecane (even bent the chain stays) and swapped parts onto the Serotta, riding little road thereafter. Moved to a mountain bike when Specialized hit the market and never looked back. I doubt this frame has 1000 miles on it.
The pictures are _before_ I clean it up, so you can see what little road dirt actually was cast upon this beauty.
FOB Manchester, NH but I'll be happy to ship. Just deserves to be used, cared for, and appreciated. I am newly retired, and am selling off possessions. Let me know if you'd like a vintage Conn 10 M Tenor Saxophone too :-)

Too busy to strip this beauty down into parts, gentlemen. I am a retiree just letting go of possessions not being used. Great frame for sure. I did strip the handlebar tape, and have begun to clean up the frame gently. But my time is too precious for any additional effort.
But the deal still stands, gentlemen. Buy it soon or it'll be posted elsewhere where things sell. I did sold my tenor saxophone...
Cheers!

Also, I am apparently unable to accept personal emails via BF because I am a newbie. Strange administrative policy, but I'm sure experience has proven its worthiness.

Just to note that the parts are not the meat and potatoes of this sale. The pedals are mismatched, the cable-holders are plastic (never scratched the frame), and the seat is an avocet.
Certainly the buyer has his/her own ideas how best to equip this frame set.

But frankly, it's on EBay with but a day left. I interpreted the quietness of this BikeForum "for sale" item that I wasn't reaching the market needed. It will sell. Cheers and thanks for your interest.

Beautiful bike. Good luck. If you have other bikes to sell, the Classic and Vintage section has it's own marketplace that is more active. Best of luck.

You listed it on ebay so why the $200 shipping charge? Bike flights is much cheaper
'Ran bicycle tours to Scotland, Ireland and Wales earlier in my life, 'ready to box up this beauty and pad it well.

Nice bike. I had a Serotta Club special with a Stronglight Crank and at first I thought this could have been mine. I bought in and sold it when I was in Boston.
It is not mine though. There are plenty of differences.
