Fork Replacement

I have a 1997 Specialized Rockhopper comp FS. If I can't get the right front shock from leaking air, what manufacture and what shock would I look for? Right now, it's mostly used for trail riding, but you never know? Cost is a factor. Thanks

For $70 or so you could get it rebuilt and might be all you need. Otherwise look for same model or at least travel, wheel size, brake type, tapered or not. If buying used make sure it was cut to a length you can use.

What brakes do you have?

There is not much of choice of new forks if you have v-brakes.

Sorry, I forgot to add, I did fix the air leak. The top cap "O" ring looked new, so I siliconed the rubber insert that the air needle goes in, to the aluminum cap and it seems to hold. I've had 50lbs in now for 2 days. I also serviced the shock. I removed the oil, made sure the inside was clean, added 2.5 oz. of 10wt fork oil in each tube and depending on what type of riding I'm doing, I'll play the air pressure.
But I'm definitely wanting to know what my options are for replacement front shock
