What you have is a 1986 model year frameset. The 1985 Trofeo frameset did not have the Formula One tubeset, a pump peg, dual bottle bosses or use the Gipemme dropouts that your frame exhibits. While the 1986 & 1987 versions were similar, with both having the pump peg, dual bottle bosses and Gipiemme dropouts, the 1987 was downgraded to the Formula II tubeset with the green border on the decals. 1986 was the only model year for the Trofeo with the Formula One decal having the red border, as seen on your fork. I'd appreciate the serial number for my database TIA.

Thanks for the information T-Mar. The serial number looks to be about 6 - 8 digits long. Unfortunately it is covered by a plastic piece that guides the front and rear brake cables. The first two numbers are visible as 1,4.
There is a number printed on the drive side of the BB. it reads 1,4,0,7.

Thanks
Val

Arrived today in the mail with some extras. Impero pump, Selle Italia saddle and pair of hoops to build a wheelset.

1988 Bianchi Giro 55cm...rough on the edges but very nice and the dreaded spider web paint quality, im happy with it nonetheless.

I built a second level for bike parking.

My '84 Bianchi Tipo Corsa. I built this when worked in a Bike Shop on Long Island, NY...which seems like a lifetime ago. I need new tires but can't seem to find a combination of: 23c/skinwall/folding/affordable.

If you can tolerate 25mm, I like the Continental Grand Prix Classics - a modern "oldish" looking tire.

Thanks! Just looked at them online and they would work fine I have an old Continental on the rear now. Now it's just a matter of opening that wallet!

I guess these belong in this thread.

Projects here:
https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...ct-thread.html
and here:
https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...ct-thread.html

Together in perfect harmony - or double trouble if you would like... It is only about five years between them and yet they are of totally different generations.

1982 Champione del Mondo

It started out with a gifted frame this past spring, had a newer fork, and obviously crashed. Had the frame repaired, aligned and repainted by Yellow Jersey, in Arlington WI. Sourced the correct Campy brakes, derailleurs, crankset, and shifters. Added a Phil Wood bottom bracket, and Shimano 28t freewheel, which will shift better then any made by Regina. Went with Nitto for the bars, seatpost and stem, verses used original items just to be safe. Finished it up yesterday, and if it ever stops raining, will start putting some miles on it

Thank you. It's a 3ttt Record. It's not what would have come on the bike originally, but I've always liked them.
