Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

just picked this up.....

.....for my dad. I think it's late 80's, all 105 groupo, been hanging on a wall for 10-15 years, covered in dust but still in very good condition. Paid $50.

Not bad for $50 if it's in good condition and it fits. That's a frame that if upgraded properly would make a beautiful bike. Nice find.

New cables, bar tape is all I'm going to change. I'll let my dad decide on the seat.

Honestly, 50 bucks seems like a steal to me, if it is in decent shape of course. Try finding something like that in Southern California. Ha, you wish!

That's why I said upgraded "properly". Tape, cables, hoods, a nice wash. Maybe some new tires, seat...

Sweet catch! I imagine your Dad saying " You've done well my son....Now go clean your room while Dad goes for a long ride."

Cool, sweet find. A friend of mine has one of these. It mostly sits in the basement, though because he finds it too jarring to actually ride anymore.
