Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Mens specific chamois pads...

I'm really curious why they don't go all the way to the top of the shorts, or at least high enough to cover your junk. This would serve several functions. One, make wearing spandex much less embarrassing (hide your junk). Two, soak up any post-urination drippings. Three, makes your stuff more comfortable. Chamois feels better than spandex.

Serious question.

Cuz a chamois all the way up would look a lot like a diaper.

Rule of thumb; if you don't spend lots of time looking at other people's junk, chances are they aren't looking at yours.

And for gawds sake give it a shake before ya put it away son!

Well, it's a lot easier to redesign the shorts than the dispenser. He has a point.

The only instance this is a concern is if you tuck your junk "up" for comfort reasons. For what it's worth, I stopped doing that when I found a more comfortable saddle, so give that some thought.

So he should be worried about how he looks, or not? You're sort of saying "both". Also, most people would probably consider a grown man riding a bicycle in an actual diaper just as silly-looking as lycra bibshorts.

More like the 'diaper' would be IMO, more uncomfortable (and unnecessary). But you have to admit a post like this deserves lots of contradiction. Like buying really high-tech, expensive cycling shorts and then peeing in them...

Why are so many men embarrassed by their penises? Solve that and the chamois is just fine.

If your junk were longer the chamois would soak up the drippings. Can we say penis?

You're going to have a little pee left over if you stop to urinate... I for one would rather have it go into the absorbent chamois than the spandex.

And I think I'd rather have the shorts look a little diaper-ish than have my junk visible ALA the Polish National Cycling Team...

Then your best bet is to wear a pair of Depends under regular spandex shorts - problem solved.

Embarrassed and the desire to have it show through my cycling shorts are two different things.

I mean, gee, why do women wear bras? They must be ashamed of their breasts.

I think you're seriously overestimating the amount I'm talking about. I'm talking about whats left after you shake.

You aren't a white guy living in Japan.

There's still going to be a little left after shaking. Didn't your mother ever tell you to wipe?

A chamois that only goes up another few inches wouldn't look like a diaper, especially if it's thin.
