Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The new Cervelo S5/FM70

This thread is intended for you to share any info on the new Cervelo S5/FM70. It is the newest best S Series bike. Thor Hushovd is riding this new prototype bike at the Norwegian National Championships this weekend, and they plan to reveal the bike worldwide at the TDF this year. This information was announced today on Cervelo's site:

https://www.cervelo.com/en_us/news-bl...ionships/2809/

I've seen on the UCI's site it is approved for racing via this link:

https://www.uci.ch/Modules/BUILTIN/ge...czMDE&LangId=1

If you have any information, or pictures on this new bike, please share it here. This is the long awaited release of the newest, best, most aero Road frame ever made. As many of you know, Cervelo started the whole aero road frame thing, with the Soloist, and ever since the Soloist Carbon was released they have had the carbon aero frame road market cornered, while pretenders have launched their own imitations, such as Felt, Litespeed, Boardman, and more recently Scott, and Specialized. None of them have made an improvement over the Cervelo S2, S3 to date. So it is going to be exciting to see what the guys at Cervelo release to top their already best in the business aero bike line up.

I hope that isn't the case, because I think BBright, is BBwrong. I like options, and I am not a fan of heavy Rotor cranks.

Nope, it is coming. The UCI doesn't approve vaporware.

It would be more logical to call it the S4.

I was hoping for pics.

I hear there will be an S4, as well. They are doing away with the S1, and there will be an S2, S3, S4, and S5. At least according to all the rumors I have been hearing. The already great S2, and S3 will remain unchanged, other than paint.

Maybe so, also it would avoid confusion with it being an Audi. Also for SBXX here is the only spy photo I have come across:

It looks kinda like a P3, with a seat tube, that isn't as deep.
