Shimano Ring on Ritchey Crank
Hey, I have Ritchey Road triple the middle ring of which is shot. I purchased a Shimano ring of correct BCD because it was cheap and I figured that would work just fine. However, the Ritchey cranks are the design where the fifth ring bolt aligns with and screws into the back of the crank arm (as opposed to more common style where crank arm lines up between two spider arms/bolt holes and all 5 spider arms are visable). Using Shimano ring requires that the tab between two bolt holes that ordinarily lines up with the crankarm, lines up 180 degrees away form the arm. The ring goes on the Ritchey crank just fine and my expectation is that it will work with the two Ritchey rings that are still usable. But before I go ahead with reinstalling the crank onto the bike, I thought I'd ask. Am I likely to have problem getting the shifting dialed in using this one shimano ring?
