Took my Sirrus out of storage a couple weeks ago.
Now to chase down some parts, hope to have it rolling this month.

I've been prepping mine to try my hand at touring, I picked it up in nov 2010 (new) but had a motorcycle accident jan 2011 and it's been in storage since do to my mangled knee...I've taken it to a local shop, had it gone over, added a spacer to the Rt pedal to accommodate my disability, wider mtx pedals (even if I can't use clips anymore), added heavier planet bike koko rack, front low-rider nashbar rack, front/rear nashbar panniers, lights and general gear (lighter, smaller packing camping and riding).

Mrs. DowneasTTer and I rode 40 miles on the Withlacoochee State Trail in North Central Florida. Notice on the close-up of the front of my bike the plant harvester working to remove some of the invasive plants growing in Lake Henderson.

Love the look of this! Were these pre-cut shapes (the honeycombs) or did you do that part yourself? Also, are they clear or orange? Iv been looking through amazon and have seen this brand but only for wheel strips (which wont work on my bike ) - can i ask where you bought yours from?

I got everything direct from Fiks at Reflective bike & running safety products with style and design in mind. - they are a little pricey but having the wheels perfectly sized was a huge help. They also have a number of different wheel sizes (diameter and also width for rim or disc brakes) - so you might find something suitable for your wheels too.

My new Comax2 is happy with a couple of hand me down upgrades:
Avocet O2 saddle - I used this for years on my MTB and it is still in great shape and super comfy
Speedplay Frog pedals - also well used but really light and work perfectly. My favorite pedals ever.

Thanks! The hexagons and shapes were also from Fiks, and they sell them as a sheet full of stickers that I just sort of slapped wherever I thought would be visible - they are orange, but they offer them in the same color range as their wheel stripes.

I Umm'd and Err'd for a while but went ahead changing my Sakae from the 2.25 gum walls to 1.4 slicks and bar ends so the bike's a little more useful to me than a display bike.

Did a little more to the bike today since it was so nice outside. Installed all new cables, but used the original housings after cleaning them out with solvent. Installed a NOS rear LX derailleur. Put on some crappy Tektro brakes, but they were better than the crappy Tektro brakes that came on the bike.
I'm going to enlist the assistance of a friend to adjust the brakes and derailleurs. He's a better mechanic than I am. I still need to clean & repack the hubs too, but that can wait. These wheels don't have too many miles on them. If I don't get to it this fall, I'll do them in the spring for sure.
EDIT: I repacked the wheels about a week after posting this. The front hub was fine, but the grease in the rear wheel had somehow become contaminated. Both hubs are now fully cleaned and repacked and spin like the dickens. I took the bike for a couple of 8 mile spins through the neighborhood and it rides like a champ. Glad I went to all the trouble.

Some fender mods today
before:
After
front I added a PDW front fender but mounted on the lower tube using the mounting bolts in the frame.
I do a lot of riding in sand and I dont have a place to hose off my bike on a regular basis so I keep fenders on to minimize the dirt.
