Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Help Me to ID Bianchi Model

I haven't had any experience with Bianchi's (I have mostly more prosaic Raleighs & Schwinns)...But this one has come my way...I know nothing about it except that it's a (Pink) Bianchi with a chromed fork, it's 12 speed and it has campagnolo brakes, hubs, derailleurs & seat post. The handle bar & stem is Cinelli. Does anyone recognize the model/year of this bike? I know the composite photo leaves much to be desired, but I'm hoping someone out there can ID the bike and give me some idea of it's original price and current value. Thanks for any help you can give!

Well, mid-80's Bianchi with Columbus tubing. Looks like a Nuova Record skewer. Who was the World Champion in 1986...Moreno Argentin, an Italian. Perhaps this is a bike made in celebration of his achievement. Probably a 1987 model. Someone should be able to clue us in...

Can't really make out the components, but I sold a celeste '85 Nuova Allora frame, fork, headset, stem & bars a few months back for $240. The Nuovo Record derailleurs and downtube shifters fetched pretty nice prices I will say. So if this is outfitted with Campy N.R. components, it'll probably get a good price for its owner. If that helps.

I wouldn't put too much stock in those wheels. I'm just not a big fan of used wheels, especially any that are older than a couple years. Then again, I don't collect bikes (yet).
