Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I ordered from Competitive Cyclist after looking for deals. None really to be had, the unit was $75 and the wire $19.

Origin8 Pro headset. Kinda disappointed. The crown race appears to be blued carbon steel, not stainless or chromed steel, or aluminum. And neither of the two included crown races fit my older 1" steerer tube snugly. I was hoping to use it temporarily to replace my original early 1990s Chris King headset while I send the King headset off for servicing. But it looks like I'll need to return the Origin8 Pro and just wait for the older King set to be rebuilt.

(Update: Oops, my mistake. The 26.4mm crown race is the correct size. The old Trek 5900 fork's steerer steps up in size twice from the 1" diameter of the main tube. After removing the original King crown race I realized the Origin8 would fit. But eventually I'll put the original King headset back on. The Origin8 Pro headset seems pretty good for the money, but not quite up to the standard of the more expensive Chris King.)

Lol!

Maybe I'll remove the bottle cage since the bottle can stand on a table next to the bike. (Along with GU Gels, a second bottle, etc.) You know, to lighten the bike.

I'm going to be the envy of the local cycling club with my new wrist band

I really only purchased it to get the GoPro -> Garmin quarter turn adapter since I couldn't find one sold separately. Really can't image anybody actually wearing one of these. Looks like a good way to break you wrist if you fall.

$10 used stem from eBay for the trainer bike. I think I need to shorten up a cm. Prices there do seem to be down a bit.

I have the 530 as well. Love it.

My last bike purchase was some camo half-finger gloves for the summer and some new bidons. Working well so far, though I'm now eyeballing the GCN ones...I think the color would go with my bike quite well.
