Colnago Super??

So, this is available locally and I've never had a Colnago. Still, I can't seem to confirm for sure what it even is. Can't find it in any catalogs. Can anyone confirm what it is and true value. I'd love to try a Colnago one day but only if it's the right deal.

The seller says it's a, "Colnago Super with a full Campagnolo Chorus groupset." Supposedly around 1988.

Hard to make an accurate assessment; that photo raises more questions than it answers. I see two top tube brake cable guides and what appears to be "Colnago" engraving at the top eye of the seat stay. Other than that, details would help set a year. Is that a braze-on or band FD? Difficult for me to make out.

Decals say Super to me. 1988, though? Hmmm...

It is brazed on.

So what would be a fair value for a mid to late 80's Super with a Chorus 6 speed setup if in good shape with only some minor paint blemishes and such? I haven't paid much attention to the Colnago world so I'm clueless.

Also note the spotty anodized rims.

It is hard to tell if the paint is original or a repaint.

The price will probably fall somewhere between $500 and $1000. Yeah, broad, but they're all over the place.

A lot of closeups to verify the frame and components would help.

I road around on a black and pink lettered Trek 1200 for 2 years. I rarely heard negative comments, but did, and heard people say they loved it, including young girls were enamored by it. Still didn't like it.
Usual thrift store find.
Many of you are enamored with those late 80's, early 90's colors, I am not.

Everything is up to the OP.

You do realize it's not about the color, it's about how it feels under you on the road. That's all that matters.

I'd ride a Hello Kitty bike if it fit perfect and felt amazing on the road.

For @jamesdak,

If you do take a look at that frame. For that era, it probably has "Colnago" written on the seatstay caps. There should be clover cutouts on at least some of the main lugs and bottom bracket, and likely the rear brake bridge.

The Fork crown should also have either a clover cutout or "Colnago" script on it.

There will be some variations depending on the production specifics.

What is the asking price. I'd probably jump on it at $500, but would be a reluctant purchaser at $1000.

It does have all those markings you mentioned. The paint scheme was throwing me since I can't find anything like it. It has the older Columbus decal that doesn't ID the tubing so that had me wondering too. Seller is asking $1000 which is too steep for me for another SL 6 speed bike, Colnago or not.

I don't see the Colnago stamp on the chainstay though.

Super has a crimp on the inside of each chainstay. It should also have Colnago Super on the NDS chainstay. I’m not sure if that changed in the later 80’s though. I think $1000 is a little much with the market these days. That’s more of an eBay price. I like the color!

Also, I think by the time Chorus came out 6 speed had given way to 7 speed. Just a quibble but if you’re looking for index shifting it might be a problem, I.e mismatched bits. I think 750 is a fair price for that one.
