I'm doing the Horrible Hundred (Orlando Florida) coming up in about 4 weeks (Nov. 19, 2018). I rode this ride last year and am still riding on the Michelin Pro4 Service Course. But need replacing before the ride.

I can't really see any difference between the two except 3 bucks more and 20g heavier for the endurance. I very much like these tires and need to order ASAP. So I need to choose between one of these...

I am a little heavy compared to most at 190lbs, so a firmer tire that doesn't give way to my weight helps a ton with rolling resistance/contact patch. Could the Endurance have a firmer side wall? Or is it just a tougher material that contact the road for added mileage?

Neither one is an event tire, but either one would be fine. I've used the Michelin Pro4 Endurance as my training tire for the last several seasons which includes lots of 100+ mile rides. I found them for twenty bucks a tire one time and bought a bunch of them. They are the best high-mileage training tire IMO. A lot of people like the Continental GP4000S which I think is probably the best choice for someone who wants to use the same tire all the time, isn't riding many thousands of miles a year and doesn't want to spend Compass money. Gravel Kings are another good choice for acceptable ride quality at a reasonable price. They don't last nearly as long as the Michelin Pro4 Endurance if that's important to you.

I would like to use the same tire year round. also, it's more of a ride and not really a race. No mass start or official timing. I'm racing my own clock.

I'm just trying to see the difference between the 2 tires...?

Just ordered the Service Course. Already have a set and I like them. 3 bucks cheaper each tire. and 20g lighter per tire. I didn't find anything to convince me to try the endurance tire...

23mm tires? How does that feel after 100 miles?
Though, they do seem like good tires for my Miyata, my bike for classic vintage rides.

I used to ride long distances on 23mm tires when I was young and resilient. I have done the majority of my randonneuring on 25mm tires, including PBP and 2 other 1200k. But I got tired of pinch flats in the dark, went up to 28 and now 32mm tires. Nowadays, I carry a spare tube to give to people that ride 23-25mm tires because they seem to get a lot of flats.
