Huh, ok. I have a family so I'll just keep doing single track for an adrenaline rush. Where is this, Mexico City? Looks like he's just bombing in from the outskirts down into the heart so ... A lot of coasting Not that impressed with his antics.
Now the other video from South America where the guy drafts a dump truck on the freeway, that was awesome.

At least they'll have some exciting videos to play at his memorial...

That was really well done. Filming, editing, soundtrack-- all very good.
Also, if you follow the Strava link to the activity (yep, it's Mexico City) this kind of thing is apparently pretty common. For the pieces on the freeway where he's cooking it 30-40mph, he's not even in the top 100 on the leaderboards.
I particularly enjoyed the bit from about the 9-minute mark to 13 minutes or so.

No brakes and riding in traffic with the feet off the pedals?
The rider looks quick. I have no problem with riding with traffic when appropriate, but he is doing a lot of lane splitting, and jumping around awfully quickly. Zipping past pedestrians? Sometime, someone will open a door, or make an unexpected move, and it will be bad.

Also, while he is looking at cars and trucks as obstacles ... he is obviously completely uncaring of the fact that they are vehicles carrying Human Beings.
When he gets killed trying to cut in front of a car ... the Driver has to live with that for the rest of his or her life ... even if it was the cyclist's fault.
What a selfish prick.

Seems the video is on over speed enhanced imo.
But either way, reminds me of local cyclists around here. Too many doing stupid things avoiding the laws making things dangerous for us all. I love cycling but have seen so many law breaking cyclists around here, it's hard to complain about drivers anymore.

Eh. Footage from OP vid was edited to about 2x speed in my estimation. I didn't see anything too scary if the vid was played at regular speed. Plus, it's been done like 20 years ago by helmet cam pioneer Lucas Brunelle. Here is his Mexico City video, and I don't believe any of it was speed enhanced. He very rarely did that in editing.
The Real Deal right here^^.
This style of riding was much easier to do before cell phones. Now I find almost ALL of the cars drift in their lanes too much for my taste.

Terry Barentsen really does some good filing and editing. As far as "dangerous cycling" goes, the Mexico City w/ Safa Hotline is fairly tame. The ones from NYC have a lot more sketchy moments-- the bike messenger crowd aren't faking it. They're that reckless every day.
Watch some of the other videos on his channel-- I don't see any evidence of video overclocking. In all of the Hotline videos (I've probably watched 6-7 of 'em now) the riders are mic'd, and re-syncing audio to cranked video would be... tough.
Check the Rooper Cay Hotline. Jinkies.

two lunatics - the lead guy convinced someone to follow him with a camera. i wonder who gets hit by cars more, the lead guy or the camera guy? first guy spooks the driver/ second guy gets the road rage result? not sure.
man - i'd love to be able to bunny hop a 6in curb without bashing the rear wheel though. that'd be really handy. I can only clear a 1/8in stick. most of the time.
if i could - i would totally ride like those selfish idiots. it'd be a hoot.

1. I could not go that hard for that long. Hat's off.
2. I would have drafted a lot more. I do not skitch.
3. Double-yellow line "bike path" is often the safest place. I tensed up when he went to the right lane - that's where all the trouble comes from.
4. Except for the bridge scene, few cars passed the cyclist.
5. A good knowledge of every intersection and excellent concentration.
6. Fun to watch! And tiring, physically and mentally.
7. It's good to see yourself on video now and then. Both riders have almost zero recollection of the action. No time for images to lodge in long term memory as the next "problem" is always one second away.

The worst thing is Terry is a reckless idiot and proud of it. This jerk even have his own self-serving clothing line:
Track bikes belong on the track.

LOL very much ^^^^^^^. As a musician it always kills me when I see a bunch of comments on someone's YouTube performance: "He's playing too frickin fast ... " yah, right. Y'all's just butthurt that you don't have the chops to play whatever it is even faster". Full Disclosure: didn't see the video. Not my thing but why h8? He'll get his, or he won't. As long as no kittens are harmed, live and let live I say.

Playing an instrument doesn't lead to serious injury.
In the video above the cyclist had a few close calls with pedestrians while weaving through traffic.
And in England, a few pedestrians have been killed by fixie riders who refused to slow down for "the timid," who are now, "the dead."
You show a few tales of musicians dying or audience members dying because the musician played too many notes per second .... otherwise, the idiocy of your reply remains unparralleled on BF.
Yo have put yourself in the realm of Chimp Channeler. Bravo.
