Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This is the longer adapter pictured, has 65mm above the headset. >> Head Stem Adaptor Alloy 22 2mm Quill X 1 1 8" Stem | eBay

I've changed to the lowest I could find. >> NEW Quill Stem Extender Adaptor Tube 1" 1 1 8" | eBay

Your Olympia is a real beauty , and 7,5 kgs is fantastic!

I have just finish to build a bike this week, with all Reynolds 531 frame and fork, titanium BB and handlbar, I am not able to go under 9,8kgs...(without pedals) !

My 1990 Ricardo is 531c with the original Suntour Sprint is 10kg or a bit more, been a while since I weighed it but I think that's about right. So back in the 80's anything under 10kg's was a good race bike in my opinion for the time.
Do you know the brand of you bike ? Looks nice to me.

I think the frame is from MERAL but I am not sure, all the other components are from my stock...

The frame weight is 1,8 kg and 1,910 kgs after to be paint .

So, this bike, in order to run, has the same weight than my 1998 PEUGEOT "competition 7000" all COLUMBUS brain steel frame .

Post on the "Classic & Vintage" forum here to nail it down, but from what I can tell, it's a 70s-80s vintage entry level Asian built frame.

Mid 80s Sannino F&F I've been messing with for a couple of years. Built with 9 speed Dura Ace and mostly new other parts. Everything chosen for personal preference after I got over the idea of trying to restore it into mid-80s Campy it originally was sold with. Fun bike

The bike was built by Lemond. It arrived in a large box.
I all had to do was put the front wheel on and adjust the handlebars.

That photograph was made at my house.

An early 80s Batavus that I stripped down and clear coated raw and converted to single speed.

Yea, that Washoe is pretty damn nice.

4 years ago when I got back into riding, I bought a 1999 Lemond Zurich all ultegra in very very good shape for $550. That bike was awesome. I had to sell it a couple of years later. Now I'm considering adding a new generation steel bike to replace my outgoing Roubaix. Be nice to have the Lemond brand again.
