Looking for some advice

I am looking at the 2019 Giant Revolt Advanced 1 and 2 . I have never used a the SRAM Apex 1x11 , only the Shimano 105, 2x11.

My only concern with the 2 is the Giant Conduct SL, hydraulic , I haven't heard alot of good things about this.

I will use the bike 50% on the road and 50% on gravel . Based on this usage which would be a better option

The 2020 Revolts are online and no longer come with the Giant conduct braking system.

As mentioned the '20 Revolt 2 is full 105 hydraulic now, but they changed the colors. I really wanted the metallic orange, so I grabbed a '19, should be in this week. I test rode one with the Conduct brake system and it seemed to work well enough. That being said, my shop has some 105 hyd takeoffs that they're going to put on for me when the bike comes in.

Sounds like a good idea. I think someone weighed that conduct system somewhere near 2 lbs!

But yes, it should still stop you nicely.

Picked her up last night, she weighed 21.8lbs with XT trail pedals and the full 105 hyd setup. I've read that the Advanced 2 is usually around 24lbs, so def some decent weight savings by ditching the Conduct system.

M/L. From what I've read the stock wheels are really heavy too, so there's some good weight savings to be had there.

For sure. And the tires are also pretty heavy. If you wanted to get a lighter set of road wheels, you could cut quite a bit of weight off of this.

My Medium Advanced 2 weighs in at 9.6kg (just over 21 lbs) with the stock Conduct system but no pedals.

The conduct system is ugly but it works plenty well enough, much better than my previous cable Spyres - although full 105 hydro would be better. I do prefer the shape of the cable 105 shifters though and they are cheaper to replace if you wreck one.

Other points to note is the 2020 model shows SX2 wheelset rather than PX2, which is a lower model (although I’m not sure of the differences) and 38mm tyres instead of 40mm. Doesn’t list them as supplied tubeless either, but I would imagine they are on a bike at this price point.

Oh, and the $200 price increase. You guys in the US get a choice of colours too - the 2020 grey beige is rather nice!

I have the 2019 Revolt Advanced 2 with 105 shifters. Can you guys tell me "which" 105 this is? i.e. 5700, R7000, etc... I need to order new hood covers...

Looks like r7000 based on a stock website pic and the fact that r7000 was introduced the year prior.
The model will be listed on the plastic body underneath the rubber hood.
