Kickback
I recently replaced as turkey archer two speed kickback I bought into a 29 inch wheel and I really like the advantage of two speeds with a single freewheel. Anyone tried this lately?

It would be interesting to know how the modern 2-speed kickback hubs behave. My only experience was with an old Bendix, long ago. I liked the simplicity, didn't like being in a random gear when I start pedaling. I didn't ride it long enough to know if there's a schtick for predictably putting it in one gear or the other.

I have a similar hub, the SRAM Automatix a centrifugal shifting 2 speed coaster brake. Great fun and easy to ride.

I am purist I don't much go for the few speed bikes give me 9 and up (as in 1x9 or say a 2x5 or higher than that) or give me just the one and I am good to go. I don't like automatic shifting and if I am shifting I like a doohickey to shift from.

I put a Sturmey Archer 2-speed kickback coaster-brake hub on a bike and hated it from day one. Shifting and braking should never be controlled by the same mechanism! The non-coaster-brake version would undoubtedly be better, but there is still a HUGE jump between the two gears. Once bitten, twice shy for me.
