Hmmm, wish I could be helpful... the 105 kit not really exciting to me. The seller makes no mention of what steel the frame is made with. The wheels look expensive to me... but I wouldn't really know.

Good deal if the components "look and feel new" as the seller says. The frame is Reynolds 853.

In the title he says 883; I think he means 853, which is what I think Lemonds are usually made of.

Yep, I wasn't local, not even the same state. I was kind of waffling on it anyway; I kept looking from the road bikes I have sitting in my living room to the auction page. it felt like cheating...

That is true, but ebay has a set time end, waiting till the last second to reveal your full intent helps. Bigbossman is correct, you make a cool calculated decision and let the email advise you the result.

Exactly the mentality I've taken after losing many, many auctions. I stopped with the small bids in the last seconds because I usually end up losing it by a dollar or two. Then I'm even more upset. Rather just set a bid that I'd like to pay and just leave. I either get an email that I won or I don't. If it's something I really want, then I'll bid accordingly high and sort of "guarantee" it.
By the way, that's how I won the Super Record front and rear derailleur for $51 shipped. Bid $125 and left. The other competitors didn't feel like one-upping me I guess
Anyway, Shopgirl...there will always be more deals. I'd suggest Craigslist over eBay for complete bikes.

I'm looking on Craigslist every day too, but it's kind of discouraging to keep looking at the same bikes every day. No kidding, there are at least a couple dozen posts from people who've been posting the same junky bikes or parts for months, maybe years. There's a lot of flippers here too. Basically, there's a lot of what I'm not looking for!
