I've owned so many headphones over the years...by far the best resource is Head-Fi.org - Headphone forums and reviews for audiophiles

Check out their buyer's guide and do some searches on the forums. Lots of good info.
Head-Fi Buying Guide (In-Ear Headphones) - Head-Fi.org Community

Exercise specific....
https://www.head-fi.org/a/head-fi-buy...ise-headphones

Forums are awesome there.

They actually test the headphones and can explain the nuances. One person can love a set of headphones because they produce accurate sound...while the same headphones can be hated by another due to lack of bass.

For $20, I just tell people to buy CX300s or a few other choices......but since you're going $200 or under, there is a lot of very high quality ear buds out there. It's worth doing the research.

Also, don't be discouraged if they don't immediately sound awesome...headphones can take a bit to break in (it can be dramatic sometimes).

What Regulatori said!
Take your time to do some research. And with a bit of luck you can find the buds you want or even better ones on Massdrop.com for a nice price.

I've used both of these etymotics in the past, neither are the hf5, but both are great quality.
Amazon.com: Etymotic Research ER23-HF3-BLACK HF3 In-Ear Headset with 3-Button Remote Control for iPod, iPhone, iPad (Black): Electronics
https://www.amazon.com/Etymotic-Resea...rch_detailpage

The ER7-MC3 are what I'm using right now. I'm currently on my third set because they don't handle sweat very well. It tends to get into the inline control and next thing you know it starts skipping songs, or jumping forward on the track, doing all kinds of hokey things. I literally went through one pair in about two weeks. I've remedied this by using electrical tape over the inline control.

I happened across these during Amazon Black Friday sales, think they were $15 at the time. The sound quality isn't nearly as good, but I don't tend to notice too much when I'm riding my bike. Off the bike, they wouldn't be my first pick, but overall, they're ok. And they stay in my ear like the etymotics. The inline control is just a stop/skip button, with no volume controls. That's a bit of a pain, but I don't adjust volume too much on the bike, and if necessary, it's nothing to tap the side of the phone while in the jersey pocket.

Today I cleared customs, and for once, the experience was not unpleasant. However, during the connecting flight security check, there was a false alarm that had the check in area evacuated. Made me miss my flight. Was able to catch the next flight though.

I think you just ended the whole thread, no point in continuing maybe...

It beat going to get cat food and getting the menu to plan my 50th birthday party meal at the end of next month.

I'm definitely way better at endurance events at the track. I was not competitive at all during the 10 lap points a race where only the first person across the line each lap gets a point, but the 20 lap points race with sprints every 5 laps I was doing pretty good. Got second on the 10 lap scratch too, so I'm not sure if I get to keep the leader's jersey another week. Might be upgrading to cat4 pretty soon too

Have owned both. Currently using Shures.
Etymotics are pretty fragile. If you're gonna be using them on the go Def go for the Shures, which I think are better all around anyway.

Gonna do a date night bike ride with the wife. Cleaned and tuned both our bikes last night. Bike work stands should have warning stickers:

At least you acknowledge that he exists which is more than most people are able to do.

I'm not here to proselytize, nor to provoke. Sorry if I upset you or anyone else. Was just typing out loud, that's all.

It was a very beautiful pace. I'm glad Costa Rica saw fit to preserve this stuff.

I totally want to get into a long drawn out philosophical conversation about this, but it's too early in the morning and doing this over the internet never turns out well. As a christian my first 18 years of life and an atheist the past 18, I really enjoy diving into this stuff and could talk for hours about it. But, I have painting to do. Ugh, adulting.
