Can't believe I never posted this one. I swear it's not Photoshop, it's a cloud reflecting light from North Bend. Some of the clouds look like they have tails, it's because the wind was strong enough to push the camera around on the tripod. Shooting ended that night when the wind knocked it over.

I don't think I've posted this one yet. It's at least 6 or 7 years old. Ballard, the drunk neighborhood of Seattle.

2012 or 2013. Looking south from Slate Peak. By coincidence, one of the mountains in the background is called Silver Star.

the present

a double exposure of the wall that Brendon Glenn died against in Venice Beach in 2015 after being shot by a L.A. police officer and a photo of one of the many national guard soldiers in Venice Beach today.

Fortunately in this area we are strong of spirit while standing for justice and when protesting, walking in peace and caring.......

Nice shot! Yup, I'd say when the wind knocks your gear over, it might be time to quit.

When we were in Florida last winter we were fortunate to visit an exhibition of Clyde Butcher's incredible B&W photography of the Everglades.
Some of his images must have been six feet wide. There's a great picture of him standing waist deep in a swamp, waiting for the right moment to capture an image with his large format camera. Me, I just keep an eye on future shots and wait for the swamp to dry out enough for me to walk to them - but I will never be as good as him!

We both went home and did some homework - the other trail isn't on the map. We were too intrigued to let it go, so we went back yesterday. The trail ends at a river, we could tell we were near the base of Whitehorse, so we did some bushwacking and creek scrambling to find a view of the hanging glaciers and meadows. I'm already wanting to go back. With a better camera. I really didn't do the place justice.

Also, Mary is a bad ass.

Several of our waterfront parks were extended out into Lake Ontario through landfilling with construction rubble. This is at the tip of the Leslie Street Spit.

This is the one of the major University of Toronto libraries - not much activity here.

More shots from out and about in Toronto.

I went to quite a few meetings in this building in the old days when I worked for a living!

I couldn't wear a mask when riding my bike - I get out of breath as it is!
edit - just to add that most of my riding is on quiet trails with steep climbs where I can find them. Kensington Market was a bit congested for my liking.

I guess that store wants to differentiate itself from the "Bikes over Nuts" store...

I'm not even sure I would know what to do with that! We also have a "Wheels on Bloor" bike store, and I'm guessing that was factored into the name selection.

Never wore 'em on the bike. But once upon a time the local SCA had a "light warrior"(?) group. Instead of the full armor combats it was heavy clothing, bamboo swords, etc. Came in handy. Only practiced with them a couple of times.

Has anybody in here done metallic prints? I don't mean the paper, I mean a sheet of aluminum. If so, what kind of photo works best for this?

for me it was just like picking the right paper for a photo i want to print but instead picking coatings and a protective laminate on aluminum instead.
