Dog tired

DO any of you have a problem with these new definitions of "service" dogs (creatures) ... it seems a Dr can Rx that a patient needs a tiny dog to accompany them everywhere ?? >>> blind or deaf people with dogs is one thing but i am tired of tiny dogs going where my SHEPHERD can't ... toy/lap service dogs aggravate me because they represent their owner's selfish abuse of well intended animal regulations

wondering what’s that term for a person who posts something rude, offensive, or insensitive and then likes to sit back and watch the outcome??....just don't play their game!!!!

eta...service dogs provide valuable services in a number of different areas, none of which should be made light of......

I saw an ad recently for a "Hearing Assist Dog".

At first glance I;m like "WTF ?". How exactly does that work ?.

I don;t really care so didn't click on the link. Seems there are "assistance dogs" for a lot of things that I really don;t understand.

Emotional Assistance animal is just a BS excuse to bring your animal where it doesn't belong as far as I'm concerned.

It definitely does not bother me that someone else 'gets' to have a service animal and I don't. We can't judge their need for the animal, but a doctor can and, presumably, did. These animals have uses that may not be self-evident, so we should assume there is a need, not assume 'abuse' of the system. Either way, you haven't lost anything just because someone has something you don't have. In this case, I would assume I am lucky not to have seizures or a crippling mental illness or some other condition that might require a service animal. Are we jealous of handicapped parking, too, or those choice seats on the bus that people get just for being old or pregnant?

I don't get upset at this stuff I'm just happy to pet an animal out in public. You get the occasional ahole that says don't touch my service dog and I say tuff crap he's getting some love.

Do you have a nervous tick that causes random introduction of >> ?

Maybe an appropriate service animal could be of assistance.

I'm thinking your emotional support vehicle would be a beer truck.

Too much beer last night so today I behave. I have a built in safety button when my body says no more beer it means it. Good thing I will never become alcoholic. I enjoy cold beer but after awhile cold iced tea is my drink.

Holy crap, I get a special seat just for being old! Right on... of course I'll have to prove it every damn time...
"Son, you jest don't look old enough for that spot..."
"Gramps, you have no idea how I feel..."
Looking at my ID: "Who you callin' gramps, old man..."

My balding younger brother looks older than I do... with my cyclist's body and my howdy doody baby face. Bit of a family joke.

There are very legitimate reasons you don't want to touch or distract a service dog, especially for blind people. At the very least, please ask permission first, and respect the answer.

Case by case basis. I understand what you're saying but I encounter a lot of able bodied twats at CVS that just want to dog hog.

I don't understand that line of thought at all. You can't leave other people's animals alone, and you get mad if they don't want you touch their animals? Do you want to ruffle the hair of cute children against their parent's will, too?

But I get this awesome sense of unearned validation when I second-guess experts and other ignorant blowhards agree, so screw the facts.
