Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

When we swapped windows to sound damping models, it help considerably. Hard to believe that just panes of different thickness makes that much of a difference.

Is it bad that an additional 4-5 oz of water squeezed in to each wheel while riding through streams and puddles? Yeah, kinda.

That reminds me - they've been drying out since and I should probably get 'em refilled and inflated.

Did you notice the alleged flywheel effect on your ride?

Ha, good to know! Yes, we're getting Serenity Sound Control, which is exactly that. Not the beefy triple-glazed 4" thick ones, but the windows we have now are original, 20 years old, and aluminum. I don't think they do a whole lot even compared to new cheap windows. There's one window in particular that faces the street where cars rev to go uphill at speed, and that one might get an additional insert if the new windows help but not enough.

And the good thing about us having moved (out of the old house, the rental in between had the same access) is that the local riding is much much better. I'd have been far more out of sorts and limited back in the old house.

Strangely, I did not. I'm usually sensitive to that, so I can't imagine why I didn't notice this time around...

Maybe the retaining bolt is loose.

Since I have the camera connected...

I'd forgotten about this one, which happened at the outset of the 200k a few days back - a little concerning because there was a car coming up along side me, too.

Why? Other than a little looseness in one axle and the wear plates, the pedals still seem good.

If these are what goes with a Ultegra 6600-era pedal, they're only $10.00?
