Over 40members and over 425 guests. Biggest numbers that i've seen. not that i track usage.

Me personally, back problems, can't do squat (even squat!). Should be riding, working on a new acquisition, or in the kayak, but in a chair.

I went for a ride yesterday. 90 on the tarmac in the northwoods of Wisconsin, gravel was a bit cooler, but not much. It was damn hot and I ruined myself. Now, I'm drinking tequila and writing on bf. My wife and kid are playing quarters. All's right with the world.
Tomorrow morning I ride into Cable for an espresso. All will be right with the world.

Judging by all the newbies that have been introducing themselves (plus account for the lurkers who haven't) the past few months, I think the new/returning bikers play a big role in the numbers.

Right there with you. My wife bought me a back brace that seems to help healing. I'm going back to the gym tomorrow am.....light. Hoping to get back on the bikes next week.

I had to do some work on my daughter's car this morning in the very small amount of time when the temps weren't past my limit. When I was in my 20's, a good bike ride in the 90's was doable. In my 50's, I am not so much interested in that.

Here in the Deep South, I am forced to hibernate from late June until the first week in October. I am now old enough to realize that early morning temps are bearable, but I don’t always act upon that.

Rode 57 miles yesterday morning; Garmin says the high was 95. Rode 28 miles this morning; Garmin says high was 93. Not sure I quite trust those temp readings, but it was hot both days. Good reason to keep moving and seek shady roads!

Did 40 miles in Barrington Hills with Scott aka Crank_Addict on Saturday. Hot day, very humid. I had to stop a few times to wipe the sweat out of my eyes and off my head it burned so bad. It was still fun. Had a great lunch at River Street Tavern in east Dundee served by my wonderful daughter that was working that day.

Did 25 yesterday in the morning when it was cooler, 87. Humidity was high enough to cut it with a knife. Having a breeze really helps. Stopping for cars is hard to take. Looked for routes that have a lot of shade.
Dismounted the bike from the rack and discovered a loose spoke in the rear and then a flat when i remove the wheel. Glad I added a window A/C in the garage and insulated the garage doors!
