Crank Arm Boots for SRAM Red - Solution Found

Anyone know of an aftermarket maker for SRAM Red? I’d like to protect the crank arm tips from chipping and rock strikes.

Not sure if they'll fit Red but SRAM make these; https://www.sram.com/en/sram/models/fc-acc-crbt-a1
Also not sure if they'd fit your cranks but Race Face make these; https://www.raceface.ca/products/era...40058261209221

The SRAM MTB boots don’t fit Red, as far as I know. It’s hard to tell if the Race Face set will work or not. I’ve ordered a set to see if they’ll fit. They may have to be slightly modified. Surprised there isn’t an aftermarket boot for Red or Force or even an OEM boot, given the use in gravel.

The RaceFace boots don’t work. The hole on the outside of the crank doesn’t quite line up. You’d have to remove plastic which means the edge of the boot would be very thin.

And I just swapped over the SRAM boots on my XX1 pedals. They are too big and the holes are in the wrong spot. Bummer.

Ok, so I found a solution that is workable. The RaceFace boots fit very well to the end of the Red cranks in terms of snugness. The problem is that the hole for the spindles doesn't quite line up. I removed small amount of material from the top end of the outside hole. This allows the spindle to snug up against the crank arm. I've removed so little material that I don't think the boot will be compromised.

On the hex side, the hole is ever so slightly out of alignment. If you use the wrench to push the plastic slightly to the side, that really isn't much of an issue. I suppose you could always remove material on that small hole as well, but it was easy enough to get the wrench in there to tighten the spindle.
