Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Looks great!! I like the black stem better, matches the seatpost for a visual break between the white pieces.

The Colnago is hot. I also vote for the black stem.

Haha... I'm pretty surprised that that's what got called out. The choice of cages was actually one of the more deliberate aspects of the build: I wanted a fully-enclosed cage on the bottom of the downtube, but 3 of those cages would have given the bike a kind of cage-heavy look with too many circular visual elements, and I figured a cage without front enclosure would be more usable on the top of the downtube. Having a single non-fully-enclosed cage "between" two fully-enclosed cages was a way to create a sort of balanced asymmetry.

The real egregious mismatch on this bike is the rear brake, which besides having an obvious pad color mismatch with the front brake, horrifically uses a Shimano-style link wire instead of a straddle. I should stick something like a Tektro CR710 there.

I like the white stem better as it gives white a fighting chance on your majority black bike.

Also I just love seeing the name "Ritchey" on the stem and their small smattering of colours.

You, sir, are correct. The break is welcome, and the black plays off the black in fork well. Also, the white stem makes the entirety look "unbalanced." Too much white up front compared to the amount in the back.

The Colnago needs black tape and saddle. Contact points on that bike should be black.

If you want white then get white gloves and shoes but leave the tape and saddle black.

IKR? Absolutely awful. What were they thinking. Frikken Arial font, yech. It's got me wondering how hard it is to find someone who can strip a carbon frame...

Those fenders are hot and so is the bike, but I am not so sure they work well together.
