Marinoni with complete Croce d'Aune Groupset
Hi all,
I saw this bike for sale (see pictures). 1000 can$. Is it a fair price? Everything is working perfectly (as per the seller). There are signs of wear and I still need to see it. But in your opinion, is 1000 can$ a fair price?
Thanks

You cannot go wrong with a Marinoni, this one has a desirable group and is a proper vintage example. Pricing may be optimistic to some.

Nice looking bike. It has the wrong brake pads/blocks so that is a discount right there. The style of the pad for the Delta brakes allows for more adjustment for toe.
The RD cable housing looks pretty short. Is this operating perfectly in Synchro Index mode or friction?

The OP is located in what it arguably the 3rd hottest market in Canada and the hottest market for Marinoni. IMO, the price is not unreasonable.

Thanks all for your comments. I agree the RD shows a lot of wear and the threaded cable housing guide is not straight (probably because of the cable that is too tight). The threads are possibly damaged, need to see. Also lot of wear on the crankset, the Columbus stickers has been modified and... looks like little dents on the right chainstay. For now, the seller sticks to 1000 can$ but from the pictures (and also looking at the different projects I already have in my garage), I am not sure I am willing to pay that. So I will see how it goes.

I didn't notice that about the Columbus decal, I suspect it was damaged in a stand and someone took a charpie to it

That's Canadian $1000, around US $750. With the Delta brakes previously pointed out, that's a steal. The only thing that will give me pause are "little dents on the right chain stay".

In about another month, the snow will disappear from the Montreal region and the sale potential will soar. I don't blame the seller for being firm on the price for another month or two. It will almost certainly be sold at this price by the end of April.
