Cable stop sizing
Morning all. 2 of my riding frames have the same issue, the RD cable stop. I can't find anything that fits properly to direct and support the cable housing, so I've ended up cable tying the first inch or two to the chain stay. Not a great solution. What do other people (you!) use?

I have a stepdown ferrule but it doesn't step down enough. Currently using a normal ferrule to butt against the stop, and the cable ties for keeping it in place. Maybe the stop is distorted?

I took my frame to a (good) service orientated bike shop and just rifled through their collection of step down ferrules until I found one that fit.

Is the "wall thickness" of a too-large ferrule enough to (patiently) file it down to fit? Certainly less risky than boring out the stop on the bike ( )

Took a bit of searching but I've found some with a step down to 3.5mm. Loads in the USA, very few in the EU. I await delivery with great anticipation!

That should work. Just measured the step-down ferrule for the similar “diver’s helmet” cable stop on the Marinoni. Smaller diameter is 3.8mm.
