I just looked up the Super Sport Plus & it says it weighs 550 grams.
The Ultra Sport 2 I was looking at weighs 409 grams which is still heavy as far as I’m used to but certainly better than 550 grams.

The Super Sport Plus sounds awful to me. 640g for the 32mm version, 28tpi fabric (Conti likes to add every layer together to boost their numbers), and extra thick tread for “fixie” riders. Hard pass. Keep the Paselas.

I use 28 mm (1 1/8") in the rear and 25 mm (1") in the front.

Properly inflated*, this combination has more or less puncture-proofed my bike. The rear soaks up the bumps nicely and the front offers spirited handling.

A wider tire up front is noticeably different. Go light up front.

A thinner tire in the rear gave more flats.

Try the Conti Ultras ! True they are by no means a GP4000 but for all the 27” out there I don’t believe there is a better bang for the buck. Gatorskins look nice and are very durable but the trade off is they ride like a cold vinyl water hose. I use the 1-1/4” on a variety of rim widths and feel pretty confident they will fit your application. After a lot of online searching it got to be fairly obvious that few if any tires were as light at that price point. Some came close at a much higher cost however. Power to weight is where it’s at, for acceleration. Traction is among the top of any 27 I’ve ridden, and the ride is smooth. Don’t recall ever having a flat on one either - but I stay on pretty good surfaces. And they aren’t expensive either. All my 27” tire bikes run them except for the one with Gatorskins. If they ever wear out, they will be replaced with Ultras. May not wait for that to happen either, I know it would see more use.

The latex tube idea will help as well, but will likely need you to keep a more frequent eye on pressures. They will leak down much sooner than a regular tube. Just stay away from any self sealing types, and get a decent name brand.

I'll go on record as saying that the 1" Paselas seem just right on my Supersport with it's original Weinmann touring rims.

It seems like these tires on these rims compliments the Supersport frame geometry, at least with me fitted to it.

I would expect the Ultrasport II to be similarly good in the 1-1/8" size, but I haven't tried those tires yet.
The inflated width of a 1-1/8" Supersport is probably extremely close to the inflated width of the 1" Pasela IMO.

Sorry to say that I used a crummy Polaroid a540 digital camera to take this photo.

I've run Pasalas in all three sizes: 1" on racing bikes (Viscount), 1 1/8" on sport tourers (Moto Grand Jubliee, two Super Sports), 1 1/4" on full dress tourer (the Nashbar). Each seems right on the right bike.

Love the Ultra II on the front, nice supple tire, smooth ride; amazing for the price! The 27x11/4" measures true to size at 32mm with only 50 psi or so on 19mm internal rims; most tires (I've used) measure 28-29mm in 11/4" width! Had to do some some fender adjustment to get them to fit in there.
