Wireless computers
I currently run an old Cateye with cadence. Needs replacing and I want to go wireless with cadence which doesn’t seem easy. I know the whole world has a Garmin but I’m more than happy with strava on my phone! Any recommendations for decent computers?

Garmin or Wahoo.
My Garmin 520 automatically uploads my ride to my phone and then feeds it to Strava. It's seemless.

Do not get the Padrone. I have one sans cadence. It sucks. Randomly resets. It also rattles a bit on the mount. Don't know if they have fixed the problems.
On the rare occasions I actually care about cadence I use the computer that was installed in my head at the factory.

Sounds like the Cateye Padrone Digital has the features you are looking for.
I've had zero issues with it and am very happy with it's performance.
It will record the cadence, maximum cadence and average cadence of your rides.
The large screen makes it easy to see.
The mounting bracket has remained tight and rattle free on this one (I seldom remove the unit from my bike - maybe this helps keep it tight?) I did have a rattle start on my previous Cateye Strava compter but it was easily fixed by shimming it with some electrical tape:

perfect timing for this discussion. i have a 14 year old cateye that i would like to replace this summer.
is everyone just using garmin these days?
not to hijack the the original post, but just adding to the discussion (sounds like we might be kind of shopping for the same thing).
i'm a weekend rider that gets about 2000 miles in a year, likes to do a few TT and fondo races here and there, and get some road miles in all four seasons. just not a serious race guy.
would love to get a wahoo (or the like) in a couple years, but no plans to have one right way. so any compatibility with that would be cool (if that is necessary, or even an option).
any tips on some good options? (or just find the garmin site and pick one?)

I recommend Wahoo Elmnt Bolt and a Wahoo speed and cadence sensor. You can put the cadence sensor on your shoe if you want and not have to mount it on the bike.

I like the Wahoo because of the ease of customization using an app on your phone.

I just got a Lezyne Macro and am pretty happy with it after 200 miles; the bay for $70, new in box. Obviously, I can't speak to its durability.
Other lower priced options include Bryton and IGPSport. The lower priced stuff from Lezyne and Bryton use Bluetooth, so any sensor that meets the BT standards should connect to the 'puter. IGPSPort and the higher end lower-priced stuff do Ant+ or Ant+ and BT.
I would have gone with Cateye, since I was replacing a Cateye Solar from the '80s, but I can't decipher their thinking - Padrone, Padrone Digital, smart? - I just don't understand what each line is supposed to accomplish. Also, I wanted a heart rate monitor besides speed and cadence. Oh, yeah - some of their stuff is Ant+, maybe some is Bluetooth, some is analog ... Cateye's offerings just confuse me, and the ones I thought I wanted cost Garmin dollars.

I have two strada computers with wireless speed, cadence and heart rate. Getting the computer to slide off the mount can be difficult. I broke the little tab off one mount and had to buy a new one.

I always have to mention Bryton Rider 10 as a budget-friendly option. It's GPS based, compatible with BLE HR and cadence sensors, and can provide a bunch of data. It does not have route planning features.
I've got ~5,000 miles out of mine so far without problems.
