Ultegra 6600 Shifter help?

Hello,

How do you get that metal ring in the back of the 6600 shifter to open up to fit on to the handle bar? Sorry I'm a Noob so if you have a picture to show me, it will be very helpful.

Look at the side of the shifter. You slip the long end of a 5mm hex key inbetween the rubber hood and the plastic body of the lever to reach the head of the bolt that pulls the metal ring tight. Rotate the hex key counterclockwise to loosen the metal ring. It's a good idea to put a drop of oil where the bolt threads into the metal ring.

Sorry but, which side? I'm clamping on the brake lever, I'm seeing the brake cable mount and the black cable guide which has a wire under it.
