I'm also 47, but my two kids (ages 5 and 9) make me feel old and young at the same time.

I hate to say it, cause I don't feel this old. I still ride mountain bikes on single track, technical courses. Before my shoulder injury in July/August, my average speed on my roadie was 18mph, over 30 miles, including hills.

But I have to face it, I'm 61

But PLEASE don't tell anyone else.

Let's just say that anyone really interested can find me emigrating to the US in 1956 .

We really do run the gamut, don't we?

Same here. I encourage my fellow "classics" who have not already done so to check out the 50+ forum -- great bunch of guys and gals, many of whom you will recognize from other BF forums.

I greatly enjoy sharing my interests in classic bicycles and classical music with your generation. My elder son, age 23, loves Beethoven and rides the 1980 Peugeot PKN-10 I gave him because it was too tall for me. His everyday transportation bike is the 1992 Specialized Hard Rock mountain bike I bought him 10 years ago, but one of his graduation presents from me this year was a brand-new Cannondale Rush mountain bike, so his bike collection already spans a pretty good range of years.
