seeking butt buddy

Cue the jokes.

Yes, I'm after something of the order of the Butt Buddy devices that used to be commonplace on this forum a couple of years back. So if anyone knows where I can get one new or second-hand in the UK I'd appreciate it.

It attaches to the seat post and it is a suspension like the Cane Creek There was a place in Seattle that had a website that sold them.

Yep, that's the one. That's Sammyboy's mini that's no longer his mini, if I remember correctly.

Well, it's more like one and a half, probably.

^^ That is indeed one on the Downtube Mini above. That, along with some other useful gizmos, used to be sold by an outfit called Sidetrak.com. Unfortunately the website went away a few years back (now up for sale).

There used to be a seller on ebay named "bicyclegizmo" that looked to be liquidating Sidetrak's remaining inventory. For awhile they sold Butt Buddies and some other stuff that Sidetrak had specialized in. A couple years ago I bought a fork from them, the invoice they enclosed had Sidetrak's logo. Unfortunately again, that seller seems to have disappeared after having left their last few buyers in the lurch.

Kent Peterson from BikeWorks told me to try peterwhitecycles for one. Either they didn't reply or my email to them bounced back. Anyway, I'm still seeking a butt buddy myself

I sold mine a while ago. I never noticed any suspension benefit for the mini.

Peter White is somewhat of a curmudgeon. So if he thinks you're asking an off the wall questions, he probably deleted it. Then again, e-mail ... especially from certain domains ... often gets blocked. I'd pick up the phone if you're desperate.

Plain top seatpost, which has a 7/8" top portion for a common saddle clamp,
you can seek out another post that has a 7/8" ID and clamp it over that 7/8" 22.2mm portion..

I bought a Used Brompton previous owner did this to gain a couple inches
rather than buy the extended seat post, cut a slot in a section of a steel seatpost and clamped it on with a radiator hose clamp.

but Note the overlap is only 3 inches , so fit need to be good between the 2

NB the lower post has a bunch of leverage on it. with your body weigh on it ..
exerting a spike of more force with each bump, Butt Buddy or not..
and the short addition adds to that ..
