****r Heights Christmas lights ride

Guys - looking to bike around ****r hts neighborhood to see the lights. I know there'll be traffic and crowds, has anyone done this? Any suggestions? Where to park? Good idea/bad idea?

Any suggestions appreciated!

Thanks
Ed

If you are taking a car you'd be better off just walking around. It isn't that large an area.

There is a great ride tat the 5 Borough Bike Club does every year on the 17th as well, if you are not a member ($25 a year, best deal in town!!) the first ride with the club is free! its a SUPER relaxed, easygoing ride.

Riding with a group is fun, but if you want to roll your own, notes from years past suggest the displays can be found in Brooklyn's ****r Heights on 81st St, 82nd St, 83rd St, and 84th St, between 10th and 14th Avenues. If I’m off by one or two blocks, the displays are hard to miss: indeed, they’re reported to be visible from low earth orbit.

I missed these organized rides, but hosted one myself last weekend for some friends from Long Island. We drove in and parked near coney island, took the belt parkway bike path up into ****r heights, and lazily rode around. You're right on the money with the streets, and as I took my Fat Bike and a santa hat, lots of kids loved the look.

It is a fun ride..

Drat again. I was thinking of doing this tomorrow, but now it looks like rain all day long. So there goes my chance to do it before Christmas. I wonder how it will look on a weeknight in the days after Christmas? I'll be away for the weekend of New Years.
