Based on how things are shaping up, I think my FTP might 5-10W over my pre-crash level, as I'm starting my 4th week back on the road. Weird. Same thin happened 1.5 years ago when I broke my collar bone. I came back and just lit everything on fire. Hmm. Maybe I should start taking a month off in March or something.
For a "normal" person on the 33 I would say that having an enforced month off the bike leading to increases in FTP after a few weeks back on the bike was a clear sign of chronic over-training. But, unless you are lying to all of us about how many hours per week you actually train, WR is the least likely candidate in the 33 to be guilty of over-training. Damn. It is good to be WR and sucks to be me. Damn, damn, double-dog damn.

1 - Finally got this thing to stop sending me notification e-mails in quadruplicate every time I visited the site.
2 - Gained ~5 pounds over the winter, think I'll hang out here for a while. Threshold power came up to more or less same w/kg (mebbe a little less?)
3 - Pulled a personal best 395w 20 min pNorm last week
4 - Not moving to back Japan until December this year, so pretty much aiming to ride hard all year and have fun.
5 - RAAM in June, no real change except lots of riding.. so.. well. no real change
Feel good, balanced, tired, and all around zen-like.

Welcome back nomad!
Still going to race between now and RAAM?
Go crush some souls.
But you have this totally badass beard!
I know. That's freaking ridiculous.
Ex, wr, jrennie, ze, gary, and nomad should get on a team together. Madness would ensue.

I got along with my parents pretty well while they were alive, but now I am wishing that I had Waterrockets parents instead. Does that make me a bad person?

Yeah, I've got a full season schedule. I think 3 weekends between now and RAAM without a race, and one of those is a 24-hr training session with my RAAM team.

That is my training beard. My "race" beard is much shorter. Training beard is to race beard as club cut is to race cut.
And wtf is the deal with vomax "race" cut jerseys? They fit like bowling shirts. I just might race in last year's team jersey. It was Champion Systems and had lots to not like, but at least it fit snugly.

It's amazing how consistent you can get the power distribution when you ride alone.

[Oh, and I worked through the night; so, as I was a tad exhausted today, I went for an easy 40' ride at about 125ap.]

5x1' w/ 2' break.
barf.
First intervals I've done shorter than 5' this year. Need them for all the crit-rat action of the coming months, but man it was ugly. Set a new record on the first one, and fell by 30%+ by the 5th.

I lost out on some quality days to a minor c-rash and a diet block but it's been a nice break for the brain. Luckily fitness is a bit like WWI trench warfare.

seems to me, c-rash could be confused for herpes/chlamydia if you weren't careful

Yep. I did those last Thursday for the first time...first few were ok, last two I was really hoping I wouldn't 1) pass out and 2) puke. I like the short recovery. mildly sadistic.
Yesterday/last night: Comute to/from work (27m total) then jumped on the trainer for 6x5'x1' @ ~106-07%. HR was right on, recovery was sufficient, hard but not deathly hard as two weeks ago (last time I did these), so I think its time for a 20' test. I'll wait till after the RR this weekend so I have something in the tank when Tspek kicks my ass.

Looking back at my old WKO files. Power-wise, I'm close to where I was December '08, which is good. Volume wise is a lot different--I don't feel I could go out and do a 4 hour ride and right now I know I can't do 4 day block with 600+ TSS. Frustrating.
I am enjoying some of my comments, like: Genius here deleted the Tundra p-tap file...
Going for a 3 day block--2x20's tonight, Pacing Intervals tomorrow, Group ride on Thursday. 300+ TSS planned. We will see if American Idol gets in the way.
