Sure. I get that. But the bloopers show some pretty severe stupidity or incompetence.

Is that any different than a TV Bloopers show?

The truth is that each person has a different level of knowledge/interest in bikes. I had a friend that offered me a free battered Schwinn Varsity the other day. "It looks just like my bike"..

A lot of people just want to get rid of stuff on Craigslist, and don't really care about the details. A Trek is a Trek, right?

Trek Bike - $350
Trek Bike - $350

condition: fair
make / manufacturer: Trek

Nice Older Trek Bike

Tires are flat.

Bonk much?
I've got plenty of juice to keep you going. .. 20oz of 100% pure Thumann's brand pickle juice. Comes with one whole Thumann's pickle. The best pickle you're going to find in the area.
Pickle juice has 'the stuff' you need to keep you going on a long ride.

For an additional fee, I can provide flasks to hold the juice..

Straightening the fork blades makes the bike look more "Modern"
And curved main tubes make it look faster!

At least they actually reversed the bars on that TREK above. Did they just tie the cables into a knot? It would probably work reasonably well, except that the upshift lever might be a little awkward. At least you won't be bumping it with your thumb at inconvenient times.

Ok, not really a for-sale ad, but it did come with a cute picture.

Don't Patronize Bike Dealers on Owners Only ! (Eugene)

Apparently someone has a bone to pick with local bike flippers that have several bikes listed. There aren't enough local bikes that I care one way or another, so I usually look at the "ALL" listings anyway.

The bike itself is okay, a nice '90s road bike with a perceived cult following so outrageous pricing is to be expected. My gripe is that for a top dollar ask this guy won't even put new tires on the thing.

https://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/...293196260.html

Bridgestone RB 1 Synergy Vintage Road Bike - $1100 (Richmond)

condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Bridgestone
model name / number: Synergy RB 1
serial number: H922319
size / dimensions: 26

This is a vintage bike that is still in demand, its hard to find one is this condition. The tires are well past there prime but I have priced tires starting at 40.00 selling at Coqui Cyclery at 3416 Semmes Ave. These vintage bikes have sold for well over the price I am asking so please be reasonable if you plan to reply to this ad.

This sort of thing never fails, does it? Super stupid, and a deal breaker for many. The detail/car wash guy in me says he didn't even wipe it down, let alone try and shine it up (presentation presentation presentation). It doesn't even possess a complete groupset, just mostly Suntour GPX, a plenty decent 105-level groupset that looks good etc, but not the brakes or levers (those are the keys). Sure, an RB-1 is nice, but with mid-components and flat tires, it's not $1100 nice. Plus, for $1100, I can get something as nice, with better pieces, and Italian.

I enjoy the mild twist on "no low-ballers. I know what I have." There was a guy selling a (probably Italian) bike on the 'bay for over $4k or $5k. He stated that it needed a few consumables replaced.

I think you're better off getting them in the boxes than built up by whoever assembled that bike!!!

That would be a screaming deal for a bike flipper. $10 each. You could probably sell the tires for more than that.

Although, it might take some time if you wished to build and flip the bikes for $50 or so, for five times your initial investment. Or perhaps throw them up on E-Bay and ship out most of the boxes untouched.
