Yuppies are the WORST about cleaning up after their dogs. They will ***** and complain all day about homeless people(who were usually there long before the yuppies moved in) ruining the neighborhood, but don't even think twice about leaving dog**** on the sidewalk.

Yuppies around here love to bag the poop then leave it all over town/on trails, it drives me insane cause if you just left it, it would disintegrate in time.

They need to start handing out tickets for littering to those people. That's like using a mucky brake with regard to getting around the intent of the law.

Seriously though......
If you're in NYC, cobblestone streets should give you an idea.
Others are right about it being an affluent hood.

There were 3 other planters on the street with bikes locked to them in similar fashion.

This is literally one my biggest pet peeves. I don't understand it at all.

High on my list of pet peeves are social generalizations and stereotyping

I haven't heard the word "yuppies" used since the 90's. Thanks for the throwback, fellas.

There was none of that in this thread, since no particular person was pointed out. I mean, if i was on the ferry to Avalon, and I saw a guy kitted out in a sausage casing, with a Litespeed, and I turned to my chica and said "look at that ****ing yuppie. I bet he's a selfish ******* who doesn't pick up his dog's poop", then THAT would be stereotyping. But I mean, come on, you can't deny that what we are talking about doesn't happen quite often. Just because yer the one guy with an expensive bike wearing nuthuggers who DOES pick up yer dog's poop, doesn't mean you can forget the 10 others that don't. I mean, I don't get mad when people generalize people who are tattooed up to their ears, because I know, that even though I'm probably not gonna snatch some old lady's purse, there are 10 mother****ers out there that look just like me, that will.

Don't be bummed, homie. You can throw some generalizations at me, if it makes you feel better....

I should clarify, my pet peeve is people who pick up dog crap and then throw the bag on the ground. It doesn't matter your social class, your race, your gender, whatever, what upsets me is the people who do this. For the most part, the bags are biodegradable as well, but it's annoying to see a trail littered with waste bags when the dog poo would have just blended into the surroundings and broken down into dirt far faster if it were not in the bag.

That said, people should pick up their dog waste and carry it with them until they have the opportunity to throw it away properly.

Firstly, sorry for being so touchy - I'm having a bad day at work and I'm hungry. I get very hangry.

Not to be pedantic, but I’m pretty sure it still counts as a stereotype if you refer to the group as a whole instead of just an individual.

Like that - I think that’s a stereotype. Or not, whatever, it’s somethin’ tho. I’m not big on semantics, so whatever.

OK:

tatted guys who play in punk rock bands and ride fixed gears are judgmental, particularly of those who they observe to be mainstream or conventional.

Maybe that did make me feel a little better .

Sorry again for being sensitive - I agree that there is something to many stereotypes, from a statistical perspective.
