Hey yanks, do you carry a handgun whilst riding?
With 31 states allowing open carry and concealed carry legal in some 42 states how many of you carry a firearm for protection from road rage, bike jacking or just plain old mugging?

If I did feel the need I'd probably be riding in the wrong neighborhood. Just keep one thing in mind: never try to outrun an automobile. And never, never let him get behind you. If he's going north, you go south. Wait...was that one or two? Anywho, never carried a gun, never will. Mace maybe?

I'm sorry but talking about carrying firearms is a rather verboten topic here. Please don't.

Nope.
I can afford to live in an zip code that does not necessitate weapons while exercising outdoors.
That and I can handle myself without the testosterone laden need for bullets.

If I decide to carry a weapon for my protection, that is my choice. It has nothing to do with if I am on a bike or in a rowboat or walking about town.
Yes I do live in a state that will issue a concealed weapon license. Oh and I am not going to engage an responses with political overtone

Not a big hand gun fan, definitely don't need anything like that doing day rides around here!
I could see carrying one on a long unsupported tour, but in reality I'd just plan a safe route. Reading about cyclists being killed in Mexico and Tajikistan, makes you wonder. Of course there would be a crazy amount of paperwork or risk carrying a firearm through foreign countries. Also thank of the thousands that do this every year safely, these tragedies get amplified in the media.
