Upgrading groupset, which gearing for crankset and rear cassette?
I'm upgrading the groupset on my Sirrus X to the Tiagra and am unsure which gearing to pick. We want the keep the bikes versatile and we wont be doing much serious climbing. I'd say it'd be on the road 80% of the time and gravel off road the remaining 20%. We're doing a 2x10.
The Tiagra crankset is offered in 50-34T, 52-36T, 48-34T
As for the cassette I dont know what option to go with, 11-34 comes up in some searches I'm doing, not sure what to go with though.
Thanks!

Depends on you.. On my gravel/road bike I swap around a 50/34 and a 46/30 and a 32, 34, and 36 rear cassette depending on need (I don't swap cranks often but the option is there). My hybrid is a 3x8 with some crazy huge range of gears.
One generality.... the wider the cassette range the larger the gaps between each gear. That matters more to some people than others. At some point in cassette range you may need rear different derailleur to support the wider range wrap.

I think the Sirrus X is a 1x drivetrain. Might be tough to upgrade to a double chainring because it isn't set up for a front derailiuer
