Appreciate the support Kurt but no, not gems. Rocks perhaps. Like Kate Winslet in Ammonite. Yeah sure...

You can't convince me the '51 and the '37 are rocks. If that's so, I'll take a handful of rocks, thank you very much. You're busy trying to tell the world your collection is de-glammed, and we're not going to accept that...

Here are a few pics of the BSA bike that I am working on with the flip flop hub (4 speed freewheel on one side and fixed cog on the other).

I've got a little bit of work before I can properly adjust the chain tension ... here are a few pics of the frame now.

You did very well so far.
Is there a dent in the down tube? Not that that’s really an issue. These are workhorses.
I love the fact that the frame pump pegs are positioned behind the down tube.

Yes a small dent on the seat tube. I was actually wondering if I should try and repair (filler or brazing) before painting. As you say not a real issue as they for sure are workhorses. I'm also trying to find out the model so I can try to come close to matching original colour.

I would create a new post here on the BF C&V forum with detailed pictures of the lugs, head badge area, drop-outs, seat post size, etc, as well as list of components. And serial numbers of course. Provide as much as possible information you have about it’s history.
I would do the same on https://forums.thepaceline.net/
And let’s see what happens.

I have successfully used a wooden broom stick that happen to have the correct diameter. Not perfect but definitely an improvement.

Thanks ... funny I was actually thinking of trying a hardwood dowel (broom stick might just do the trick) for at least a minor improvement as you say.
